"You don’t know Raclette? You gotta be kidding me!"
Tasty melted cheese with potatoes, gherkins, pickled onions, sweet peaches, pears and pineapple. Combined with vegetables and meat grilled on the top plate. A glass of wine and the company of your friends or family, what more do you want for a social get together? It’s just beautiful!
When you shift countries you look carefully at all pros and cons, especially if you are talking about shifting to the other side of the world. After you have written down the sandy beaches, pohutukawa trees, easy going lifestyle and you see yourself already walking in the middle of beautiful New Zealand scenery, preferably in your “jandals” of course, it is then time for the cons. As a real Swiss German, not having Raclette was on top of the list!
However, the winner finally is....love. So, you go ahead and move to New Zealand pulled by those heartstrings you cannot control. I mean, at the end of the day it is only food, right? And we all know New Zealand has an incredibly great variety of delicious food. However all the nice excuses don’t last and after the first few months you start aching for something Swiss. No, it is not chocolate or money. And it is not just only cheese, it is Raclette cheese!
After I found out that New Zealand even produces nice Raclette cheese and the average Kiwi does not know what to do with it, it was clear that there had to be something done about this. Everybody knows how Kiwis love their BBQ’s and how much they go for casual, social eating. You don’t have to be Einstein to realise Swiss Raclette + Kiwi = Fantastic food and pleasure for everyone.
That’s when my Kiwi-Love and I decided to import real Swiss Raclette grills, which offer a whole new taste experience to New Zealand. But to be Kiwi as well as Swiss, we decided to bring in the only Swiss Raclette combined Pizza Grill range available anywhere, so you can prepare Raclette and mini pizzas on the same grill.
So, there is only one thing more to say: Enjoy your dinner with the ones you love and have fun!
